Pasta Evangelists review: restaurant pasta through your letterbox
Our rating: 4/5 — a treat box rather than a weekly-shop replacement, and brilliant at what it does.
This week's menu · 2026-W35
12 recipes to choose from. Over the last 4 weeks, Pasta Evangelists adds around 0 new recipes a month.
What we like
- The pasta. Genuinely restaurant-quality fresh pasta and sauces — the closest a meal box gets to a proper Italian night out.
- Speed. The fastest, easiest recipes of any box we've tried — most dishes are on the table in around five minutes.
- Letterbox delivery. Boxes fit through a standard letterbox, so there's no waiting in for a courier.
What could be better
- Vegetables. The recipes are light on veg — you'll want to add a side salad or greens yourself.
- Scope. It's pasta — wonderful pasta — but it won't replace your weekly shop the way Gousto or HelloFresh can.

What other reviewers say
Our round-up of what independent UK reviewers and customers report — with links so you can check the source.
Trustpilot ≈ 3/5 from ~4,848 reviews (indicative — see the live score)
Pasta Evangelists occupies a specialist niche as a fresh artisan pasta subscription — not a general meal kit — with preparation times of just 5–10 minutes and dishes described by independent reviewers as 'straight out of an upscale trattoria'. However, its 3.0/5 Trustpilot score — tied for lowest in this set — reflects persistent delivery and customer service issues that undermine the premium product positioning.
Reviewers praise
- Restaurant-quality fresh artisan pasta prepared in 5–10 minutes with minimal prep — significantly faster than other recipe kits.
- Strong taste credentials — independent reviewers rate dishes (truffle cacio e pepe, pistachio pesto, Chianti ragu) as 'genuinely very impressive' and restaurant-standard.
- Long shelf life versus other fresh kits — over one week refrigerated, up to one month frozen; strong vegetarian selection within the pasta format.
Common gripes
- Joint-lowest Trustpilot score in this review set (3.0/5 from ~4,848 reviews); delivery delays, burst cooling packs, and poor customer service response to complaints are recurring themes.
- Premium pricing for kit format — £7–£14 per individual dish; prices described as having 'gone up hugely in the last year and a half' by multiple reviewers.
- Narrowly focused on pasta — not a general meal-kit service and unsuitable for those seeking dietary variety, family-friendly meals, or low-carb options.
